Young Farmers in Cyprus to Receive €7.5M in Grants
Cyprus will provide financial grants to support young people starting a career in agriculture, Agriculture Minister Maria Panayiotou announced.
A total of €7.5 million has been allocated to assist all applicants interested in entering the farming sector.
Panayiotou also revealed that the government is doubling its funding for livestock waste management — increasing the available support from €400,000 to €800,000.
In addition, a special new scheme will be introduced for farmers who want to install photovoltaic (solar) panels. The initiative will cover up to 80% of the purchase and installation costs.
These announcements follow an earlier pledge of €67.5 million in overall support for Cyprus’s agricultural sector.
