According to the Department of Meteorology of the Republic of Cyprus, on Friday, March 8th, the region is experiencing weak low pressure. Meteorologists are forecasting cloudy weather with thunderstorms, hail, and snow in the mountains.
Today, in the first half of the day, variable cloudiness with isolated showers is expected, mainly in the west. By afternoon, the weather will be cloudy, with possible local showers and isolated thunderstorms, particularly in the highlands and the eastern part of the island. Hail is possible during the storms, and wet snow may fall on the highest peaks of Troodos. The wind will mainly be from the southwest and northwest, ranging from weak to moderate.
According to the meteorological forecast, during the day, the air temperature will reach up to 19°C in inland areas and along the coast, and up to 9°C in mountainous areas. By evening, increased cloudiness is expected, which may lead to isolated showers, mainly in the west.
The air temperature will drop to approximately 6°C in inland areas, 10°C along the coast, and 2°C in mountainous areas, where frost may form in some places.
In the coming days, the air temperature will gradually rise and fluctuate above the average climatic values.
