APOEL secures its first European victory in water polo

On Friday evening (February 13), Cyprus’ APOEL achieved a historic success by claiming the first European victory in its history in water polo. In the group stage of the LEN Challenger Cup, the team defeated West London Penguins with a score of 9:8. The match was intense and kept fans on edge until the final seconds.
Earlier the same day, the Cypriot champions played another match — against Welsh Wanderers. Regular time ended in an 11:11 draw; however, in the penalty shootout the Cypriot team narrowly lost 21:20.
APOEL’s performance in the European qualification tournament continues. Today the team will play two matches:
- at 10:00 — against Clube Naval Povoense,
- at 18:00 — against Hapoel Palram Zvulun.
On Sunday, the Cypriot club will face Ljubljana Slovan.
The team aims to strengthen its position in the group, earn important points, and conclude its European campaign with a достойным result.
