Riots at the GSP Stadium after the APOEL – AEK Larnaca match

On Sunday evening, serious clashes occurred at the GSP Stadium in Nicosia between fans and police following the football match between APOEL and AEK Larnaca.
According to the police press service, the incidents began when about 150 people headed toward the western stand of the stadium, where the club management was located. Police officers attempted to stop the crowd using tear gas. In response, fans began throwing stones at the police.
During the riots, five police service vehicles were damaged. Information about arrests or injuries has not been reported at this time.
The police continue to investigate the incident.
