What is the AI Factory that will open in Cyprus

AI Factory is a major European center for artificial intelligence development, which will start operating in Cyprus as part of EU initiatives. Its goal is to provide businesses, the government, and researchers with access to powerful computing resources, data, and expert support for developing and implementing AI solutions.
Simply put, it is a "factory" for creating and training AI:
- high-performance servers and supercomputers
- access to large datasets
- assistance for startups, companies, and universities
- development of AI in medicine, public services, energy, climate, transport, and security
The project is funded by the European Union and is part of a Europe-wide network of AI Factories being established in various countries. The Cyprus site aims to:
- strengthen the country's digital economy
- attract investments and highly skilled specialists
- provide local companies with access to technologies that were previously unavailable due to high costs
It is specifically emphasized that the AI Factory will operate according to EU rules — focusing on safety, personal data protection, and the ethical use of artificial intelligence.
