The upcoming weekend in Cyprus promises to be rich in cultural events: from October 2 to 5, the island will host festivals, concerts, theater productions, and exhibitions.

In Limassol, the 16th International Open House Festival of Dance and Performance will kick off. It will encompass public spaces and concert venues of the city and will conclude on Sunday. The program includes choreographic performances by Cypriot and international groups, as well as interactive parallel events aimed at engaging the audience and enlivening the urban environment. On Sunday at the Rialto Theater, the play ILAND will be staged — a joint project by artist Ody Icon, music producer Alejjos, and video artist Diyala Muir, dedicated to the themes of islands, communities, and resistance.

The 64th Limassol Wine Festival also continues, taking place in the Municipal Gardens. Visitors can discover Cypriot winemaking traditions, taste local products, and enjoy concerts.

In Paphos, the Stage One theater group will present the black comedy “Natural Causes” in English — performances will run from Thursday to Saturday. On Friday, the Heinz Holliger Trio concert will take place at the Markideio Theater, featuring oboist Heinz Holliger, cellist Anita Leuzinger, and pianist Anton Kernjak. Over the weekend, the village of Fyti will host the second Weaving Festival, where visitors can observe traditional handicraft techniques, listen to music, and watch dance and theater performances. On Sunday, the village of Pano Akourdaleia will hold its monthly handicraft market from 10:00 to 14:00, offering works by local artisans, live music, and treats.

Nicosia also has a number of cultural events planned. At Pantheon Cinema, a documentary “The History of Copper in Cyprus” will be shown with English subtitles. The 3rd international Poetry Moves Festival will begin, combining poetry, music, photography, and dance. Simultaneously, Cyprus Comic Con 2025 will take place with cosplay, workshops, and shows. As part of the Nicosia International Festival, the municipal theater will present an online broadcast of Anton Chekhov’s “Uncle Vanya” starring Andrew Scott. On Sunday afternoon, the Cookshop café will host a vintage market with second-hand elements, a brunch menu, and an exhibition of antique items.

Beyond the major cities, there will also be much to see. In Pera Oreinis (Nicosia district), the 3rd Eisperides Cultural Festival will take place with workshops, music performances, and hiking tours. In the village of Potamiou near Limassol, the Potamiou Wine and Gastronomy Festival will be held on Sunday, where guests can sample traditional food and drinks accompanied by live music. In Protaras, from October 2 to 7, the Cyprus Rocks ’25 Classic Rock Festival will bring rock bands from the UK and Europe to the beaches of Polyxenia Isaak and Ayia Triada.

Thus, the weekend in Cyprus will be full of cultural events: from chamber music to rock festivals, from craft fairs to contemporary dance. Residents and visitors of the island have the opportunity to choose entertainment to their taste and enrich their leisure time.
