Cyprus Forest Department Hiring 118 New Firefighters
The Cyprus Forest Department is recruiting 118 new firefighters, who will be deployed across the island.
The recruitment process includes physical tests and interviews, with candidates selected based on their overall performance.
The department received 246 applications for the 100 available positions approved by the Council of Ministers in July. To be eligible, candidates needed a forest firefighting certification, relevant professional training, or at least six months of firefighting experience.
Of the new recruits, 30 will be stationed in Nicosia, 40 in the Troodos area, and 48 in Paphos.
These new firefighters will join the existing teams to enhance the department's efforts in protecting Cyprus's forests from wildfires.
