The Chairman of the Cyprus Police Association Resigns

The chairman of the Cyprus Police Association, Kyriakos Charalambous, has resigned. He cited "personal issues" and increased professional commitments as the reasons for his departure from this position.

According to the union leader, when he took on this role seven years ago, he set himself "three clear goals" that "might have seemed unattainable."

Nevertheless, Kyriakos Charalambous stated that all the set tasks "have been achieved at the cost of effort and many hours of work."

The association chairman added that these achievements include coordinating police working hours with the civil service and a pension plan for officers who were not covered by this insurance in the past.

Kyriakos Charalambous urged association members to "remain united" so they could continue to serve the association and the police force.
