Mountain Villages in Paphos Call for Ambulance Station

Residents of the mountain villages in the Paphos district are urging the establishment of a fully equipped, 24-hour ambulance station in Statos-Agios Fotiou, along with an ambulance dedicated to the Panagia Medical Center.

Mihalis Kimonos, the president of the mountain community and leader of the Statos-Agios Fotiou village, emphasized the need to station ambulances in the area to ensure quick responses to emergency calls and provide timely transportation to Paphos General Hospital.

"The community needs an ambulance station in Agios Fotiou. This is a pressing issue for the locals," he said in a statement.

According to Kimonos, the lack of ambulances is just one of the challenges faced by the mountain villages. He also pointed to dangerous roads – with several residents having fallen victim to traffic accidents – as well as unallocated land plots and water shortages, which are especially problematic during dry seasons.
