Historic Library in Central Paphos to Relocate
The Christodoulos Galatopoulos Municipal Library, a historic landmark in central Paphos that was restored in 2015, is set to relocate due to a lack of space for its expanding book collection.

The decision, proposed by Paphos Mayor and approved by the municipal council, will see the library move to the TEPAK building, where its collection will be archived. The current historic building is too small to accommodate the growing number of books, many of which are currently stored in basements and other unsuitable spaces.
Despite the move, the neoclassical library building will remain under municipal ownership and will be repurposed for cultural initiatives, including the preservation of rare books and historical artifacts.
Additionally, the municipality has acquired a neighboring building, which currently houses a café. This space will be integrated into the Historical Documentation Center, which is being established in the former Police Department building.
