Troodos Roads Restricted to Four-Wheel Drive Vehicles Due to Snowfall
Snowfall and icy conditions in the Troodos region have made several roads accessible only to vehicles with four-wheel drive or equipped with snow chains. Police have issued guidance on specific routes where drivers should exercise extra caution.

Road Restrictions in Limassol District
Due to adverse weather conditions, the following roads are open only to vehicles with four-wheel drive or fitted with anti-skid chains:
- Karvounas to Troodos
- Platania to Troodos
- Prodromos to Troodos
Icy Conditions in the Morphou Area
Severe ice has been reported on these roads:
- Kakopetria–Pine Forest–Pedoulas
- Pedoulas–Prodromos
- Prodromos–Lemithou
- Prodromos–Platania
These routes remain open, but drivers are urged to proceed with extreme caution.
Extended Cold Weather Alert
Following Sunday’s sharp drop in temperatures, the Meteorological Service has announced that cold weather will persist into December. Temperatures are expected to stay below seasonal averages until December 20.
Residents are strongly encouraged to monitor daily weather forecasts and heed official warnings to stay safe.
