Israeli Airlines Suspend Flights to Paphos
As of Monday, major Israeli airlines have temporarily halted flights to Paphos Airport in Cyprus, following a recommendation from Israel's security services due to unspecified safety concerns.
On Sunday, Israel's security agency directed airlines El Al, Arkia, and IsraAir to suspend flights to Paphos "for security reasons that cannot be publicly disclosed."
According to reports from both Israeli and Cypriot media, all flights to Paphos will be rerouted to Larnaca Airport, where passengers will be transferred by bus to Paphos and other destinations on the island. So far, no official statements have been made by the airlines or the company managing Cypriot airports.
Representatives from El Al, Arkia, and IsraAir have confirmed they are following the security directives.
Giannis Antoniou, Deputy Government Spokesman for the Republic of Cyprus, confirmed that the authorities are aware of the situation and noted that flights between Larnaca Airport and Israel are continuing as usual.
