Israeli Airlines to Resume Flights to Paphos This Weekend
Israeli airlines will resume flights to Paphos this weekend. Israeli authorities have provided an explanation for the suspension of flights.

It is expected that, starting this weekend, Israeli authorities will lift the emergency security measures that had been in place for flights to the popular Cypriot resort. This information was shared by Israeli state television, citing well-informed sources close to national security services.
The report clarified that the reason for the security measures was not related to Paphos Airport’s infrastructure or facilities. The measures specifically applied to three airlines representing Israeli interests.
Earlier, it was reported that the major Israeli airlines had temporarily suspended flights to Paphos Airport in Cyprus.
Israel’s security agency instructed airlines El Al, Arkia, and IsraAir to avoid flying to Paphos “for security reasons that cannot be disclosed.”
It has since been revealed that the restriction had been in place for a while: all flights to Paphos operated by these airlines were redirected to Larnaca Airport, where passengers were then transferred to Paphos and other parts of the island by bus.
The government of the Republic of Cyprus has assured that flights to and from Paphos are safe, and that the measures in place only apply to “airlines representing Israeli interests.”
