An Israeli reported an attack in Limassol: “beaten unconscious”

A serious violent incident is being investigated in Limassol: a young Israeli citizen was brutally beaten by a group of people near the hotel where he was staying, according to his relatives. As his brother claims, the attackers approached him after hearing a conversation in Hebrew, and the incident may have had an antisemitic motive.
According to the family, the man suffered severe blows to the face and head, lost consciousness, and was taken to hospital. Relatives report a fracture of a bone in the eye area and a risk to his eyesight, and also complain that, in their words, medical assistance was insufficient. The victim later returned to Israel for further treatment.
No official conclusions about the attackers’ motives have been announced so far — the circumstances of the incident remain under investigation.
