Cyprus to Perform in the First Eurovision Semi-Final
On Tuesday, May 13, Cyprus' representative for Eurovision 2025, Theo Evan, will perform in the first semi-final of the 69th Eurovision Song Contest. The live broadcast will begin at 10:00 PM Cyprus time.
Competing alongside Cyprus in this semi-final are artists from Iceland, Poland, Slovenia, Estonia, Ukraine, Sweden, Portugal, Norway, Belgium, Azerbaijan, San Marino, Albania, the Netherlands, and Croatia. Theo Evan will close the show, performing last with his song “Shh.”
The second semi-final will take place on Thursday, May 15, 2025. Public voting will decide which acts move forward to the grand final, scheduled for Saturday, May 17, in Basel, Switzerland. The final will also be broadcast at 10:00 PM Cyprus time.
Theo Evan (real name Vangelis Theodorou) is the first artist born in Cyprus to represent the country at Eurovision since 2017. In recent years, most Cypriot entries have been performed by artists born in Australia.
The song “Shh” was written by Dimitris Kontopoulos, Lasse Nyman, Linda Dale, and Elsie Bay, with lyrics by Elke Tiel. Last year, Cyprus placed 20th in the final and finished 15th out of 25 countries in the semi-final round.
