Cyprus Offers €2,000 to Syrian Migrants Who Voluntarily Return Home
The Cypriot government has announced a new incentive program offering €2,000 to Syrian migrants who agree to voluntarily return to their home country. As part of the initiative, one breadwinner from each family will be allowed to remain in Cyprus and work for up to three years.
Deputy Minister of Migration Nicholas Ioannides explained that Syrian nationals can take advantage of the repatriation program if they voluntarily withdraw their asylum applications or renounce their international protection status granted before December 31, 2024.
Families who agree to return will receive a one-time payment of €2,000 per adult and €1,000 per child. Childless couples are also eligible for the financial support.
