The heavy weather conditions, particularly intense thunderstorm activity, caused disruptions in the operation of the power grid in the latter part of the day yesterday, affecting areas across the island.
As reported by the Cyprus Electricity Authority (EAC), all damages caused by the adverse weather have been rectified.
These included minor local malfunctions in the Nicosia province, two incidents on medium-voltage networks in the Limassol province, and several damages to power lines in other provinces.
It's worth noting that today, meteorologists in Cyprus are forecasting heavy rain, thunderstorms with hail, and wet snow.
Given the persisting severe weather conditions, EAC crews remain on high alert to promptly address any further damages that may arise.
