Forest Fire Near Paphos Started at Illegal Dog Shelter
A large forest fire broke out in the vicinity of Paphos, Cyprus. The blaze is believed to have started at an illegal dog shelter.
According to emergency services, the fire began yesterday evening around 6:00 PM in Polemi, Paphos. The flames quickly spread through the area, destroying approximately five hectares of wild and low vegetation.
Both ground and aerial forces were deployed to combat the fire. The blaze was brought under control after three hours, around 9:00 PM.
Firefighting teams remained on the scene throughout the night to monitor for potential new flare-ups. There have been no reports of injuries resulting from the incident.
