Forest fire in Tremithousa community (Paphos) brought under control — three decares burned
On Thursday, 11 September 2025, a forest fire broke out in the community of Tremithousa in the Paphos district. It was detected at 13:18 and fully brought under control by 15:00, according to the Forest Department.
The fire burned an area of three decares of wild vegetation. The operation involved three Forest Department officers with one fire engine and nine Fire Service officers with two fire engines.
According to the authorities, the spread of the flames was halted before it could escalate into a larger blaze. The causes of the fire are currently under investigation.
For residents of the district, this means that the local incident did not escalate further and emergency services responded according to standard procedures. Authorities urge the public to continue observing fire safety rules in forested and agricultural areas until the official investigation is completed.
