British passengers flying to Turkey drank all the alcohol on board in less than half an hour
A company from the United Kingdom flying to Turkey consumed all the alcohol on board the plane in less than half an hour. According to representatives of the airline, they encountered such a situation for the first time.
As reported by the British newspaper Independent, the incident occurred during a recent flight of the SunExpress airline.
According to the director of the airline company, Max Kounatski, during the four-hour flight, flight attendants sold out all the beer and wine supplies just 25 minutes after takeoff.
The head of SunExpress noted that British passengers, in general, spend more than tourists from other countries and behave "more hedonistically," emphasizing that airline staff had never encountered such a situation on any of their flights before.
The date and time of the flight, as well as which specific British airport the plane departed from and how many passengers were on board, are not specified. However, it is known that the flight was oriented towards golf enthusiasts, as the Turkish city where the tourists were headed is popular among golf fans.
It is also noted that since 2022, the Turkish airline has nearly doubled the number of British airports from which it operates flights to Turkey. Now flights are operated from 9 airports in the country.
SunExpress flights are available from Birmingham, Edinburgh, Gatwick, Luton, Manchester, Bristol, and Newcastle, as well as from Turkish destinations including Antalya, Izmir, and Dalaman.
Leeds, Bradford, and Stansted will be added to this list in the summer. During the summer, the airline plans to transport 1.3 million passengers with 136 flights per week.
Last summer, SunExpress transported about 700,000 British passengers.
