International marathon in Larnaca gathers a record number of participants

On Sunday, November 16, the largest sporting event in Larnaca — the Radisson Blu International Marathon — will start on the Finikoudes promenade. The marathon once again brings together people of all ages and nationalities under the spirit of participation, effort and unity.
This year, more than 13,000 participants from 85 countries are expected, including 3,000 foreign guests. The classic marathon breaks the national record for the number of registered athletes — over 1,000 people.
The special guest of the marathon will be Georgia Kaltsi, an athlete of the PASKA wheelchair basketball team and life coach. After a serious accident ten years ago, she rebuilt her life through sports and will now participate in the main distance.
Start schedule for November 16:
- 07:00 — Marathon
- 07:15 — Half Marathon
- 10:00 — 10 km Run
- 11:10 — Individual 5 km Run
- 11:30 — Corporate 5 km Run
- 12:20 — Children’s 1 km Run (ages 4–6)
- 12:40 — Children’s 1 km Run (ages 7–9)
- 13:00 — Children’s 1 km Run (ages 10–13)
- 13:00 — Children’s 1 km Run (ages 14–17)
- 13:00 — Fun Race 1 km for adults
Traffic restrictions and parking:
From 06:00 to 13:00, several streets will be closed, including Athinon Ave., Makariou Ave., Artemidos Ave., Livadion Street, Zinonos Kitieos, Ermou, Nikolaou Rossou, Mehmet Ali, Piale Pasa and others. Police will ensure the safety of participants and regulate traffic.
Parking spaces are available at Avis/Budget, Invizio Car Park, Bpozndag 1, Afroditis 7, Kosmas Lisioti, Finikoudes, Thermo-piles, Placota Court, Ag. Lazaro 40–44 and Lord Byron.
The marathon will once again become a celebration of sport and unity, bringing together thousands of people ready to conquer distances and inspire one another.
