The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Cyprus has signed a memorandum of understanding with the American University of Cyprus
At the signing ceremony, Deputy Minister of Defense Andreas Luka described the memorandum as "an important step towards achieving the ministry's goal of collaboration with the academic community."
According to the deputy minister, through the agreement, the ministry and the American University of Cyprus are "paving the way for cooperation in areas of mutual interest, with the aim of promoting joint educational and other programs to address various issues."
Areas of collaboration will include joint participation in research projects, exchange of information and data, cooperation in education and training, as well as the development of technological applications.
Additionally, the Ministry of Defense intends to focus its efforts on creating a network of educational institutions specializing in areas of mutual interest.
"Our goal is to effectively communicate our country's defense and foreign policy to the academic community through national and international educational activities," stated the deputy minister.
