Friendly Volleyball Match Held at the Turkey-Greece Border
A friendly volleyball match involving Turkish, Greek, and German students took place at the Turkey-Greece border near the Pazarkule border gate. The event was organized by the Turkish Volleyball Federation (TVF).
The match was a collaborative effort between Ankara University, the Italian Volleyball Federation, and non-governmental organizations German SGRIM V and Greek Fix Art.
This friendly volleyball match was part of the "Advan+AGE" project, which began 18 months ago under the European Union's Erasmus Youth Program.
Turkish and Greek music played throughout the match, creating a lively atmosphere as Turkish, Greek, and German students competed.
According to Onur Hoşnut, a lecturer at the Faculty of Political Sciences at Ankara University, the match was the concluding event of the long-term Erasmus Youth Program.
The project included inclusive events for young people aged 13-15.
"Our goal is to bring together children from different countries. We concluded the project with a friendly match at the Turkey-Greece border. The match was held in a friendly atmosphere. It was a game where friendship, not competition, was the winner," said Hoşnut.
After the match, the students were congratulated by Murat Ulaştır, head of the Sports Department of the Edirne Youth and Sports Directorate, Sebahattin Bilgiç, head of the Family and Social Services Directorate of the province, and staff from the border checkpoint.
