On the 22nd of December, rain accompanied by hail and wet snow in the mountains is anticipated across Cyprus
As per data from the Department of Meteorology of the Republic of Cyprus, on Friday, the 22nd of December, the region continues to be under the influence of weak low pressure, persisting until Saturday.
Throughout the first half of the day, heightened cloudiness will give rise to isolated showers and an occasional storm, predominantly in the north, west, and mountainous areas.
Over time, the weather is expected to turn overcast, with localized rains and storms anticipated in the western half of the island. During thunderstorms, hail may manifest, and in mountainous regions, wet snow could descend. Winds are projected to be predominantly southwest and northwest, ranging from light to moderate.
As per the meteorological forecast, daytime air temperatures will ascend to 18°C in inland areas, up to 19°C on the coasts, and around 8°C in the mountainous regions.
Come evening, variable cloudiness is predicted, with potential isolated showers and thunderstorms.
Nighttime air temperatures are expected to drop to around 12°C in inland areas, to 13°C on the northern, eastern, and southeast coasts, and to around 17°C on the remaining coasts, with temperatures plummeting to approximately 4°C in the mountainous regions.
Up until Monday, temperatures are projected to experience a slight increase, residing just above the average climatic values.
