Woman Arrested in Cyprus for Tourist Scam
Cyprus Police have arrested a woman suspected of committing fraud in the tourism industry. The arrested individual allegedly defrauded a travel agency of 20,000 euros.
According to the police press office, the 38-year-old woman bought travel packages from the agency using virtual money transfers and then resold them.
The travel agency owner in Nicosia reported the fraud. The victim claimed that between June and July 2024, the woman purchased travel packages 27 times from his office, amounting to approximately 20,000 euros, and resold them after paying the agency using virtual money transfers.
The case is under investigation by the Nicosia Criminal Investigations Department.
