Christmas tree sales in Cyprus will begin on 26 November

The Department of Forests announced that starting from 26 November, residents of Cyprus will be able to purchase Christmas trees at forest stations across the country. Sales will run until 19 December and will take place only on weekdays — Monday to Friday, from 08:00 to 14:30.

All trees are harvested legally — they are the result of sanitary and planned cuttings that help the forest grow and reduce excessive stand density. The Department reminds that illegal cutting, storing or transporting Christmas trees without a permit is against the law. Violations may result in a fine of up to 5000 euros, imprisonment for up to one year, or both.
Private forest owners are advised to obtain all required permits in advance and to mark the trees with the Department’s special stamp before transportation.
