The Cyprus Department of Labour Inspection has announced a temporary ban on performing heavy and moderate outdoor work due to abnormally high temperatures. The restrictions will be in effect from 11:00 to 17:00 in areas located more than 10 kilometers from the coast at altitudes up to 300 meters above sea level, as well as in territories above 1,150 meters.

Additionally, from 12:00 to 16:00, deliveries using motorcycles, mopeds, bicycles, and scooters are prohibited. This restriction also applies to courier services and food delivery platforms.

The agency urged employers whose employees continue working in permitted zones or performing light work to closely monitor weather conditions, reschedule tasks to cooler times of the day, provide regular breaks in the shade, and supply workers with cool water, protective clothing, and headgear. Special attention is recommended for preventing heatstroke and overheating.
