New batches of baby formula recalled in Cyprus due to possible toxin presence

Health inspection services of the Ministry of Health of Cyprus reported an expansion of the list of baby formulas being withdrawn from the market due to the potential presence of cereulide — a toxin produced by the bacterium Bacillus cereus.
The following batches have been added to the previously recalled products:
- Aptamil 1 (400 g) — batch 101480258, expiry date 20.11.2026
- Almiron Pronutra 2 (400 g) — batch 101464043, expiry date 12.08.2026
According to the authorities, these batches have already been distributed in Cyprus and are being recalled as a precaution following notification through the European Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) and additional testing.
Currently, the following baby formulas are subject to recall:
- S-26 GOLD 1 (400 g) — batches 51550346AE (30.06.2027) and 53280346AB (30.11.2027)
- NAN EXPERTpro Sensitive Plus (400 g) — batch 51250742C1 (30.11.2026)
- NAN EXPERTpro Lactose Free (400 g) — batch 51520346AD (30.06.2027)
- Nestlé NAN Optipro 1 (800 g) — batch 51210346AB (11.2026)
- Aptamil 1 (400 g) — batch 101480258 (20.11.2026)
- Almiron Pronutra 2 (400 g) — batch 101464043 (12.08.2026)
Health authorities strongly advise against using the listed batches for infant feeding and recommend returning the products to the stores where they were purchased.
Inspections are ongoing. If additional batches are identified, including through parallel imports or online purchases from abroad, further notifications will be issued. Consumers are urged to check the batches of baby formula ordered online.
