New Case of Foot-and-Mouth Disease Confirmed on Cyprus Farm
The livestock industry in Cyprus is on high alert following the confirmation of a new case of foot-and-mouth disease at a cattle farm in the Dromolaxia area.
The information was confirmed by the spokesperson for the Veterinary Services, Sotiria Georgiadou. According to her, the disease was detected on one of the farms, triggering an immediate response from the competent authorities.
Upon discovery of the infection, European response protocols for such cases were immediately activated, and relevant services began implementing necessary measures.
The situation has reportedly caused serious concern among farmers and producers, as the disease could impact the livestock sector.
