Cyprus Detains 24 Illegal Immigrants in Latest Raid
Over the weekend, Cyprus carried out another round of raids targeting illegal immigration, leading to the detention of over 20 individuals. The Republic of Cyprus' police have continued their efforts to identify and apprehend third-country nationals residing in the country without legal permission. The most recent operation took place on Sunday, covering all provinces.
In total, 24 individuals were arrested during the operation for staying illegally in Cyprus. Three of those detained have already been deported and returned to their home countries. The others remain in custody as authorities have started the process of repatriation.
The police are continuing their focus on increasing the repatriation of illegal immigrants in coordination with other relevant agencies.
