Pilot Phase Launched for the Electronic Justice System in Cyprus

The Republic of Cyprus initiates the implementation of the Electronic Justice Information System. As of today, the project is launched in a pilot mode.

According to the Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy, Filippos Hatzisacharias, the introduction of this system is a crucial step towards the digital transformation of Cyprus.

He noted that starting from December 18, 2023, the new electronic justice system of the country will be operational in a test mode, with its full implementation expected in February 2024.

It is anticipated that the system will allow for electronic document registration at all stages of the judicial process, streamlining the work of judges, registrars, and lawyers.

"We are in close collaboration with the Bar Association and the Supreme Court to provide both citizens and lawyers with a convenient, simplified, and efficient justice system that will cater to all the necessities exclusively in a digital format," added the Deputy Minister.

Louisa Christodoulidou-Zannetou, the Commissioner for Legislation, noted in her statement that in conjunction with the new rules of civil procedure, which came into effect in September 2023, the implementation of the electronic justice system allows for a transition into a new era.
