A dead dolphin calf found on the beach in Limassol
On Wednesday morning, a dead dolphin calf was found on the Lady's Mile beach in Limassol. The carcass of the marine mammal was discovered by a local resident, Marinos Kartoudis, who swims in the sea in the mornings. He reported his finding to the media.
According to the Phileleftheros publication, to which a reader turned, the external examination of the dead calf, lying on the shore, did not reveal any external injuries or trauma.
The man also contacted the Department of Fisheries and Marine Life Protection of the Republic of Cyprus, whose employees arrived at the scene. The administration of the British military base of Akrotiri, located on the territory of Lady's Mile, was also informed about the gruesome discovery.
