On the mountain peaks of Troodos, wet snow is possible: Cyprus weather on January 16
According to the data from the Department of Meteorology of the Republic of Cyprus, on Tuesday, January 16, the region is under the influence of weak low pressure.
Today, in the first half of the day, the weather will be predominantly cloudy, with localized rain and isolated thunderstorms, especially in the western half of the island. Wet snow is possible on the highest peaks of Troodos. However, gradually, starting from the second half of the day, these phenomena will temporarily weaken.
According to the meteorological forecast, the daytime air temperature will be up to 19°C in the inland areas, on the western and northern coasts, around 20°C on the southern and eastern coasts, and down to 8°C in the mountainous regions.
By evening and night, the weather will remain predominantly overcast, with occasional showers, mainly in the west. Later, however, localized rain and isolated thunderstorms are expected, especially in the western half of the island.
The air temperature will drop to about 9°C in the inland areas, down to 13°C on the coasts, and down to 4°C in the mountainous regions, where local frosts are expected.
Until Friday, the temperature will not change significantly, continuing to fluctuate above the seasonal averages.
