Guard dog attack in Nicosia: 64-year-old woman hospitalized after bites
In the village of Agios Ioannis Malountas, in the Nicosia district, an incident occurred involving a dog attack on a woman. According to police, the 64-year-old employee of a waste processing facility was injured after attempting to open the cage housing four shepherd dogs used as guard animals.
The animals attacked the woman, causing multiple bites and injuries. The victim was urgently taken to the hospital, where doctors performed surgery. According to medical staff, her condition is stable, with no life-threatening risk.
Law enforcement authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the incident. In particular, it is being checked whether the owner had legal authorization to keep these dogs. The case is under the jurisdiction of the Kliri police station.
