A new project revives nine historical myths in rural Larnaca.
A cultural project to revive the myths and legends of rural areas has been launched in Larnaca, Cyprus, the Larnaca Tourism Board said on Thursday.
The initiative presents nine local tales as short audiovisual recordings filmed in the same villages where the stories originated. The project was organized by the Larnaca Rural Women’s Association and the Larnaca Tourism Board with the support of the Deputy Minister of Tourism.
In each village, residents recount a documented legend on camera; filming takes place against recognizable rural landscapes. English subtitles have been added for foreign audiences.
QR-code plaques will soon be installed in all nine villages. Each plaque will be placed at a site linked to the corresponding myth and will allow visitors to view the video instantly on their phones.
