New Explosion in Limassol: Bomb Detonated Near Shop
Another explosion rocked Limassol on Friday morning. This time, an improvised explosive device went off in front of a shop entrance.
According to a police press release, the blast occurred at around 3:50 a.m. on May 30 in front of a glass window of an office building. The explosion caused significant damage to the building’s glass facade and also shattered the window of a nearby shop.
Preliminary reports suggest the device was made using a water pipe filled with low-yield explosives. The area has been cordoned off by police and remains under guard. An investigation is ongoing.
This marks the fourth explosion in Limassol in recent days. Previous incidents involved bombs detonated at a 70-year-old man's home, an auto repair shop, and outside a beer bar.
