Hunter fined €3,300 for hunting in a prohibited area in the Kambos region
A hunter was detected and fined on Sunday morning, December 28, in the Kambos area of Nicosia province in Cyprus for hunting in a zone where such activity is prohibited.
According to the press service of the Game and Fauna Service, the violation was identified by service officers during the morning hours on Sunday. A representative of the Game and Fauna Service, Petro Anagioto, confirmed the fact that the hunter was found within a prohibited territory.
An administrative citation was issued to the offender, and a fine of €3,300 was imposed. The statement does not provide additional details regarding the type of weapon or any possible confiscations.
For residents of Cyprus, this means that supervisory authorities continue inspections in hunting grounds and apply financial penalties for presence and hunting in areas where this is prohibited. Offenders are advised to clarify permitted hunting locations and times with the Game and Fauna Service and to comply with local restrictions in order to avoid fines and administrative liability.
