Dangerous car and motorcycle parts detected in Cyprus: consumers urged to return products
The Cyprus Department of Road Transport has issued a warning about a new threat. According to the Consumer Protection Service, within the European rapid alert system Safety Gate (RAPEX), during week 34 of 2025, dangerous car parts and components were identified that are unsuitable for use and pose risks to users.
Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the mentioned items and return them to the point of purchase, informing the seller. These measures are necessary to prevent possible damage or accidents.

The Department of Road Transport calls on manufacturers, representatives, distributors, importers, and sellers whose products may be related to the identified violations to immediately contact the authority and take all legally required measures to withdraw dangerous products from the market.
If a manufacturer or seller does not respond to requests, consumers may file an official complaint with the Consumer Protection Service on the website consumer.gov.cy.
