Three Arrested Over Attack on Omonia Fan Club in Nicosia
Three more people have been arrested in connection with Sunday’s attack on the Omonia fan club in Lakatamia, Nicosia. Dozens of other suspects remain at large, police said.
According to a police statement, the three suspects—two 18-year-olds and one 51-year-old—are currently under investigation. They are facing several charges, including conspiracy to commit a felony, unlawful entry, disturbing the peace, malicious damage, carrying weapons, and assault causing bodily harm.
All three are expected to appear before the Nicosia District Court, where a decision will be made regarding their detention.
The incident occurred last Sunday following a football match between long-time rivals Omonia and APOEL. A group of masked individuals stormed the Omonia fan club in Nicosia, injuring three people.
Two other suspects, aged 40 and 22, were arrested earlier this week in connection with the case. They have been remanded in custody for eight days. The investigation is ongoing.
