Two Teenagers Arrested in Connection with Arson at Nicosia Kindergarten and Car
Cypriot police have arrested two teenagers in connection with the arson of a kindergarten and a car in Nicosia. The incidents occurred last Saturday, February 1, but the suspects were only apprehended recently.
According to local media reports, the suspects are 16 and 17 years old. On the night of February 1, police received reports of fires at a public kindergarten and a nearby parked car owned by a 56-year-old woman.
Firefighters responded to the scene and quickly extinguished the flames in the building. The car owner managed to put out the fire herself before the emergency services arrived.
The investigation revealed that both fires were intentionally set. Statements and evidence gathered from the suspects led to the issuance of arrest warrants, and the teenagers were taken into custody the evening before.
The investigation is still ongoing.
