Cyprus Police Intensifies Street Patrols for Summer
The Republic of Cyprus Police is ramping up street patrols for the summer season. Enhanced surveillance will be in place from June 1st to September 30th.
During the summer months, special attention will be given to street inspections and ensuring the safety of motorcycle, moped, personal mobility device, and bicycle riders.
Historical data indicates that the summer period typically poses increased risks for vulnerable road users.
The police press office highlighted that checks will include verification of motorcycle or moped ownership, registration status, and compliance with relevant regulations.
Particular emphasis will be placed on addressing various traffic violations, such as reckless driving, failure to wear appropriate protective helmets, noisy exhausts (lack of mufflers), vehicle modifications, speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving without a valid license, and failure to use high beams.
