Larnaca Police Investigate Suspected Arson at High School Yard
Larnaca police are currently investigating a fire that broke out in the yard of Drosias High School. Authorities say the fire was deliberately set by unknown vandals, who also spray-painted various slogans on the school’s walls.
The fire was discovered around 2 a.m., prompting the dispatch of two fire trucks to put out the flames. Investigators found that benches inside the school grounds had been set ablaze and completely destroyed. Additionally, the school’s bulletin board and walls were damaged.
During the investigation, police discovered slogans on the walls containing English initials linked to a student group, leading them to suspect that teenagers may be behind both the arson and vandalism.
Police have begun reviewing footage from security cameras in nearby offices and residences surrounding Drosias High School. The area has been cordoned off, and several items have been collected for forensic analysis.
