Limassol Police Seize 40 kg of Cannabis and Two Pistols: Two Arrested
Limassol police seized 40 kg of cannabis, two pistols, over 2,000 rounds of ammunition, and €12,400 in cash over the weekend. Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the case.
The first arrest occurred on Saturday afternoon by the Limassol Anti-Drug Unit (Ykan). Around 5:00 PM, police intercepted the vehicle of a 36-year-old suspect and discovered several illegal items, including keys to an apartment in Mesa Geitonia.
During a subsequent search of the apartment, police found six suitcases containing nearly 40 kg of cannabis, half a gram of cocaine, two pistols, and 14 pistol cartridges, as well as two cardboard boxes with 2,000 rounds of 9 mm ammunition.
The man was arrested and brought before the Limassol District Court, which issued a detention order for eight days.
On Sunday evening, a second suspect, a 32-year-old woman, was apprehended. A warrant for her arrest had been issued, and she was taken into custody around 11:00 PM.
