The Paphos Police confiscated marijuana, fireworks, and contraband cigarettes
During a special operation at one of the houses in Paphos, the police unit combating drugs seized a large quantity of marijuana, fireworks, and untaxed tobacco products. The 29-year-old apartment owner has been arrested.
The search was conducted yesterday evening based on a court order issued after an assessment of information obtained by the police. During the operation, a nylon bag containing approximately 11 grams of cannabis was discovered and confiscated. Further investigation inside the house also revealed and seized two boxes containing 188 fireworks.
In total, during the investigation, 6106 cigarette packs, 94 boxes of electronic cigarettes, and over nine kilograms of tobacco were confiscated. Additionally, 509 cigarette packs and 10 packs of electronic cigarettes, which were presumably stolen, were also discovered and seized.
During the investigation, €4640 in cash and a motorcycle, which according to documents does not belong to the apartment owner, were also discovered and confiscated.
The 29-year-old man has been arrested and remanded in custody for further investigation.
The Paphos Police and the YKAN district drug enforcement department continue their inspections. The money and untaxed tobacco products have been sent for examination to the Customs Department.
