The Paphos police have detained five illegal workers.
In Paphos, the police detained five young men accused of working illegally on the island. All five detainees are asylum seekers.
According to the assistant director of the city's police, Michalis Nicolaou, the five detainees are between 19 and 28 years old. They have all been formally charged with working illegally in Paphos.
Additionally, a 36-year-old man has been charged, suspected of employing the illegal workers.
All charges were brought after a labor inspection found that the five detained refugees were performing construction work without being officially registered as employees and without work permits.
The illegals and their alleged employer will be summoned to court soon.
