The police conducted an operation to prevent petty crime in Limassol
The police carried out an operation aimed at preventing petty crimes in Limassol during the early morning hours on Saturday.
During the raid, more than 300 vehicles were inspected, 75 drivers were tested for alcohol, and 39 fines were issued for traffic violations. In addition, four cars and nine motorcycles were confiscated.
As a result of the operation, three individuals were detained. The first — a 19-year-old man riding a motorcycle; a small amount of drugs was found during the check. The second — a 45-year-old man with various traffic violations recorded by the police; a stun gun was found in his car. The third — a 44-year-old man, also riding a motorcycle and committing traffic violations; after being stopped, he attacked police officers and was detained for assaulting a police officer.
The operation demonstrated the scale of vehicle and driver checks as part of crime prevention in the city. Residents and drivers in Limassol should take into account that such raids involve mass vehicle inspections, driver condition checks, and possible confiscation of vehicles if violations are found.
