After the match “Apollon” – APOEL: two fans arrested for attacking the police

After yesterday’s derby between Apollon and APOEL at the Alphamega Stadium, police made two arrests in connection with incidents that occurred as fans were leaving the arena.
According to the police, a group of fans attacked law enforcement officers by throwing stones at them. To stabilize the situation, the police used special measures, including tear gas and the Ajax water cannon.
As a result, two men aged 25 and 23 were detained. One of them is charged with public insult, the other with assaulting a police officer.
The investigation of the incident is ongoing.
