In Larnaca, firefighters came under attack by unknown individuals while extinguishing a fire. Firefighters were pelted with stones.
As reported in a conversation with AlphaNews by the representative of the fire service, Andreas Kettis, the incident occurred yesterday evening.
Firefighting units were mobilized in response to an emergency call: the service responded to 28 different cases of fires in waste bins and illegal dumpsites in the provinces of Nicosia, Limassol, and Larnaca.
During the response to two separate incidents in Larnaca, firefighters in a fire truck were attacked by unknown perpetrators who threw stones at them.
According to the representative of the fire service, the case of the attack on firefighters is being investigated in collaboration with the police.
