Deadline for tax returns extended: what you need to know
The Cyprus Tax Department announced that the deadline for submitting TF1 tax returns (for individuals) for 2024 has been extended to 15 October 2025. Taxpayers can take advantage of this extension without penalties or additional charges.
Until the new deadline, it is possible not only to submit the return but also to pay the due tax and insurance contributions without administrative sanctions. After 15 October, the situation changes: for late submissions, the following measures will apply: an administrative fine of €100, an additional tax of 5%, a 5% surcharge, and interest charges until full payment is made.
This step is a joint decision by the Tax Department and the Minister of Finance to reduce the burden on taxpayers, especially during times of economic uncertainty. However, after 15 October, compliance with deadlines becomes mandatory, and late payments will be strictly penalized.
In summary: if you have not yet submitted your tax return or paid the corresponding obligations, use the extension until 15 October to avoid fines and additional interest.
