Missing kitesurfer rescued off the coast of Maroni in Cyprus
On Sunday afternoon, a search and rescue operation was conducted for a missing kitesurfer off the coast of Maroni in Cyprus, the Joint Coordination Center for Search and Rescue Operations reported.
According to the center, the national search and rescue plan "Nearchos" was activated around 16:30 following a report of a missing person during kitesurfing in the area.
A high-speed boat from the maritime and port police and a foot patrol from the Zigi police station were dispatched for the search.
The person was found alive and in good condition around 17:00 and was brought ashore.
The information indicates coordinated action by emergency services in responding to water incidents and the prompt return of the victim to shore.
